Amethyst Wizards have mastery over spirits, and it is whispered that they can steal the souls of the living and summon black Winds of death. Whilst such abilities are as nothing compared to the evil sorceries of true Necromancy, their morbid association with death forever taints Amethyst Wizards in the eyes of the common folk. They are particularly loathed by the Priests of Morr, who are deeply suspicious of the Amethyst Wizards’ penchant for lurking near their cemeteries. Indeed, the halls of the Amethyst College are akin to a great necropolis, with a stench of death constantly lingering around it.

If the Empire before was able to snipe key targets effectively between flying lords, strong missile units, and solid artillery, it just became that much better with the Lore of Death. The Empire specializes in having solid responses to every kind of threat and the Amethyst Wizard further rounds that out. Now elite enemy infantry can be given the Fate of Bjuna, lords can be spirit leeched, and the Purple Sun can decimate blobs of infantry.
