The Barded Chaos Steed is a mount for the Warriors of Chaos.

Sculpted plates of thick, metal barding further protect these dark stallions.
Strategy[ | ]
The tradeoff for this mount when compared to the standard Chaos steed is +30 armour for -12 Speed. For almost all characters this simply puts them from well armoured to very well armoured at the cost of going from being a fast unit to simply a quick unit. This is a very reasonable place to cut funds in multiplayer or upkeep in single player as the difference between the steeds is not very significant.
As of Total War: Warhammer III, the -12 speed reduction doesn't apply.
