Lore[edit | edit source]
The Chaos Dwarfs are evil Dwarfs who long ago broke away from their kin in the west. Under attack by Chaos, they turned from the Ancestor Gods to worship Hashut, the god of fire, darkness and industry. The Chaos Dwarf Empire lies in the Dark Lands, east of the World's Edge Mountains but west of the Mountains of Mourn. The Dark Lands are dry and volcanic, but rich in minerals. From their capital of Zharr Naggrund the Chaos Dwarfs venture out to capture slaves to work in their mines. In their foundries they mix magic and technology to create daemon-possessed war machines, and other monstrosities. Unlike Dwarfs, Chaos Dwarfs actually have spellcasters, however their spellcasters pay the price of slowly turning to stone.

Evidence[edit | edit source]
Creative Assembly has said that, by the end of the Total War: Warhammer trilogy of videogames, they aim to make playable every race that had an army book in the 8th Edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battle.
Chaos Dwarfs did not have a proper army book in 8th, however they had a full army list in the Tarmurkhan supplement and models by Forge World, and they were fully legal to play in tournaments.
Chaos Dwarfs units[edit | edit source]
Currently the Hellcannon, a Warriors of Chaos unit, is crewed by a small contingent of Chaos Dwarfs. In the tabletop game, the Helcannon was also usable by the Chaos Dwarfs in addition to the Warriors of Chaos.
