The Eastern Oblast is a territory of steppe and pine forest stretching out east of Praag all the way to the Goromadny Mountains and the World's Edge Mountains further south. Though there is some arable land to the south, this part of Kislev is locked in snow for most of the year, and its inhabitants are reliant on hunting and outside trade to survive. Volksgrad is the capital, a hardy, high-walled settlement where entertainment is expensive but, thanks to the trade route it is on, the exotic imports of Cathay are cheaper than anywhere in the Old World.
The Eastern Oblast is regularly embattled from two directions: Chaos and Norscan warthrongs pressing from the north, and Greenskin tribes raiding down from the east. Even for Kislevites, its people have a chip on their shoulder about the sacrifices they endure to ensure the well-being of those further west. They are a mix of Gaspodars and Ungols, however the Ungols here are more organised than they are anywhere else in the country, and the hags have a great deal of influence.
