Mighty, hulking reptiles, these 'Living Bastions' are wild and untamed. Better watch out!

Feral Bastiladon is a Lizardmen Lizardmen monster unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer II.

Recruitment[ | ]

Description[ | ]

Bastiladons, sometimes known as Living Bastions, are a mighty and hulking species of armoured reptiles whose heavily-armoured shell is perhaps one of the strongest within the continent of Lustria. It is a walking fortress, a living bastion covered in a rock-hard bony skin, and then further protected by massive iron-like plates – a natural armour so dense that it can, sometimes, thwart the bite of the mighty Carnosaur. Even those blows that crack the outermost armour plates cannot penetrate deeply into the beast due to the Bastiladon’s alternating layers of thick leathery skin and additional scales.

  • Armoured: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Modifier icon armour piercingArmour-Piercing damage.
  • Armour-Piercing Melee: The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Causes Terror: This unit can cause terror, making its melee target rout for a short time. Units that cause terror are immune to terror and fear themselves.
  • Rampage: When this unit gets hurt and enemies are nearby it might go on a rampage, attacking the closest enemy and ignoring any orders given.

As their description suggests, Bastilidons are very tanky in nature and work as excellent damage sponges, a good addition to squishy Skink or Terradon focused armies. One major point in their favor over the Ark of Sotek variant is they require only a single turn to recruit, remarkable for how much they bring, making them excellent purchases for when you need to raise an army in a pinch.

At almost half the price of a Feral Stegadon in multiplayer battles and even 100 points cheaper than Saurus Warriors a Feral bastilladon might be a good addition to an infanty heavy army as a cheap way bringing a solid amount of armour piercing damage and fear and terror.
