Forest Encounter: Test-Fire is a unique Forest Encounter dilemma for the Heralds of Ariel faction, part of the Wood Elves race, introduced in Total War Warhammer II The Twisted and the Twilight DLC.

The player can chose to be able to use two uncommon army active abilities, Sartosa Grapeshot and Zhufbar 42 Pounders, in all armies for a few turns, spend some money and fight a Skaven enemy, or face a Vampire Coast enemy. Regardless of the choice, the forest health of a random owned forest settlement will increase by a moderate amount.

Alternatively, the player can decide to leave and return later to make a decision.

In-game description[ | ]

Many years ago, the Skaven of Clan Pestilens swarmed these pools. At the instigation of Clan Moulder, they have returned. A vast army of Plague Monks, backed by a swarm of chittering rats, threatens to descend and sully the sacred waters. But an unusual source of aid appears: a Vampire pirate, looking to test some new artillery, is willing to direct his guns at the Skaven - for a price, of course.

However, if you do not hire the pirate, he mist instead chose to offer his arms to the Skaven.

Requirements[ | ]

Trigger timing[ | ]

  • As soon as all requirements, the player can move an army to the Forest Encounter location marker in the campaign map to trigger the dilemma immediately.
  • The player may leave without making a decision and return at a later date.

Options[ | ]

Option 1: Pay the Pirate[ | ]

A mercenary pirate is providing artillery support.

  • You will face a foe in battle
  • Forest Health (random owned forest settlement): +10
  • Treasury: -1000

This pirate may be an abomination, but the situation is dire.

Option 2: Spurn the Pirate[ | ]

  • You will face a foe in battle
  • Forest Health (random owned forest settlement): +10

No good can come from such a deal.

Option 3: Decide Later[ | ]

  • You will be able to return to this marker later.

You do not have time for this right now.
