Hidden Pirate Cove is a skull reef treasure hunt introduced in Total War: Warhammer II in the Aye-Aye! Patch. It gives the option to battle a rogue faction for treasure. See below for unit list and rewards.

Description

Pirate coves are some of the world's most elusive places, where the wealth of local sea brigands is secretly kept and fiercely defended. It seems that today ma y be your lucky day, as your lookout in the crow's nest claims to have spotted one - a small island cave, next to which a black ship is moored. The ship belongs to an infamous fleet of Vampire pirates, and it appears that there are Zombie Deckhands transferring treasure chests onto the shop right now. It's an opportunity for a big payday, but these Unliving sea-dogs certainly won't five up their wealth too easily.

Choices

Wait

Once the Undead freebooters have left, there should still be ample pickings.

Result

Deciding to wait for the pirates to leave the area, you dropped anchor a safe distance from the cover behind some neighbouring islets.. After the black ship departed, you led your troops into the cold, damp enclosure, where you managed to find a few sacks of loot, but most of it had been taken away in the black ship. No risk, little reward!

Raid the Cove!

There is a significant pirate presence, so there must also be colossal wealth there for the looting!

Fight

You will fight an army of Rogue Pirates (a faction of Vampire Coast) If you choose this option but then don't wish to fight, you can concede during the battle - you will take no casualties, but the skull reef and Rogue Pirates will disappear.

Reward

The pirate cove contained great wealth in the form of treasures and items stolen from across the four corners, but getting to it was no easy feat. When the Vampire Admiral in the helm of the black ship saw you approach, he immediately readied his horde of crewmen and darkling creatures for battle. After defeating the Undead freebooters, you ransacked their ship as well as the hidden cave to make for a plentiful hoard!
