The notorious tinker-rat known as Ikit Claw focuses his diabolical pursuits on building the most heinous killing-contraptions possible.

Ikit Claw is a Skaven Skaven Legendary Lord unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer II with The Prophet and the Warlock. In campaign, he leads Clan Skryre Clan Skryre.

Description[ | ]

Chief Warlock Ikit Claw has taken Skryre’s blend of science and sorcery to entirely new levels. He was tall and white-furred before a failed experiment exploded and mangled his body, so an intricate iron mask of his own invention now covers his hairless skull and a cunningly wrought exoskeleton aids his withered left side. The iron contraption is run by a Warp-generator, a masterpiece of engineering that siphons the Winds of Magic to also power Ikit’s devilish inventions. Whirring cogs hiss and vent steam as the Chief Warlock moves, clanking like a fully armoured knight. Like all Clan Skryre Warlock Engineers, Ikit has continued to tinker, adding countless upgrades. He wields the crackling blade Storm Daemon, a modified halberd wrapped with copper wire coils set with glowing Warpstone, energised with barely suppressed power drawn from his Warp-generator.

Attributes[ | ]

  • Wh2 main lore ruin Wizard
  • Spellcaster: This unit can cast spells.
  • Armoured: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Modifier icon armour piercingArmour-Piercing damage.
  • Armour-Piercing: The damage of Modifier icon armour piercingarmour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Anti-Large: Anti-Large: Anti-large units have an advantage against targets that are at least as large as a horse. This advantage can be a Modifier icon bonus vs largedamage bonus against large targets or an attack that focuses on a very small area. However, some units are simply better against large targets because their attacks are slow and easy to dodge by skilled melee combatants.

In campaign, Ikit Claw is a powerful Skaven Legendary Lord this is due to the fact that Ikit is one of the available Lords who gets a personal mount (Doomflayer or Doomwheel), as well as his faction's unique Forbidden Workshop mechanic. The sheer multitude of upgrades and items he can get to improve his weapon teams and war machines with is massive, not to mention he also has access to extra Regiments of Renown and the devastating Doomrocket.

Since he comes with an upkeep reduction of 50% for weapon teams, his army should be focused on heavy ranged attacks and war machines. The classic design of "Ikit with a full army of weapons teams, supported by a cheap generic lord with a full army of skavenslaves who never leaves reinforcement range" is an extremely strong combo that will serve you well the entire campaign. On the battlefield Ikit himself is best used against enemy infantry, blasting them to pieces with spells from the Lore of Ruin and his Brass Orb ability while buffing your own units. His two mount options give him the mobility to be wherever you need him to be to support your frontline and the crushing mass to deliver a good charge.

In multiplayer, he is best avoided due to high cost and no clear-cut purpose that can't be fulfilled by cheaper units. Lore of ruin can be obtained from grey-seers, or warlock engineers.
