Jungles of Green Mist is a Jungle province introduced in Total War: Warhammer II.

Originally, the Mortal Empires version of the province only had two settlements, but in the Doomsayers Update, another settlement was added.

Background[ | ]

Located south-west of the Ishthmus of Lustria, the Jungles of Green Mist is in an area of the continent largely abandoned by the Lizardmen, with all of its temple-cities and monuments lying in ruins. This has allowed other opportunists to move in and claim it for themselves. The Dark Elves have learned to bypass the Grey Guardians by sea when raiding into Lustria, and have an island outpost here at The Blood Hall. Though from hard experience they have become wary of stealing Lizardmen artifacts, they are still drawn here by Lustria's large and lethal wildlife, which they seek to capture, tame and turn into warbeasts.

These jungles are also said to be the location of the Wellsprings of Eternity, an otherworldly location awash in pure Qhaysh, high magic. The Lizardmen believe the springs were once important to the Old Ones, a place where their silver sky chariots would come to prepare for journeys across the empyrean vastness, and that drinking its waters provide glimpses of the world as the Old Ones saw it. However, the incursion of the Dark Elves caused Mazdamundi to rework the geography of Lustria itself to oppose them. As a result of this, the Wellsprings came untethered from the Geomantic Web and magical energy fountained from the earth. Carved stelae were erected by the Lizardmen soon after, grounding the flow of power, preventing the swamps from expanding further, and warding others away from them.
