March is a common army stance available to armies from many different races. It greatly increases army movement range on the campaign map, but also has many disadvantages.

Effects[ | ]

  • Campaign movement range: +50%
  • Recruitment: disabled
  • Vigour in battle: tired
  • If the army is attacked, it cannot retreat. If it loses the battle, it will be wiped out.
  • Battle initiation: disabled

Strategy[ | ]

March Stance is an useful option to get armies to the frontlines quicker, but should be used sparingly with nearby enemies (especially Skaven). Armies in this stance are especially vulnerable to being ambushed and won't be able to take any real actions or adapt their stances until their next turn. Main considerations to risk it near enemies would be:

  • Reaching allied settlements in need of defense
  • Reaching other allied armies (an army in March stance can still reinforce battles or be reinforced by allies)
  • Retreating from visible danger, attrition and/or into allied territory

Note that special movement stances available to some races, like Use Underway, can be more effective than March stance depending on cirumstances and with less drawbacks to boot, though being intercepted is still a lethal risk.
