Description[ | ]

The noble families of Ulthuan have led the High Elves through times of peace and conflict for thousands of years. They pride themselves on a deep sense of honour, as well as the mastery of both diplomacy and war as art forms. The High Elves believe an existence lived without precision to be hollow, and scarcely preferable to death. Any Elven aristocrat is just at home fighting with sword in bloody melee as he is loosing deathly-accurate arrows from afar, or even dictating the strategy from a greater distance still. Depending on their wealth and the kingdom of their birth, the princes and princesses of Ulthuan fight in many different ways. Those of Tiranoc typically do battle from the back of swift-wheeled chariots, while the lords of Lothern often stand, spear and bow in hand, amidst the ranks of the Sea Guard. Those with the greatest wealth might ride upon a Great Eagle or Griffon or, in the case of the mightiest princes and princesses of Caledor, a Dragon. Such steeds are invariably a symbol of status, as well as lending a brutal advantage in the midst of battle.

Attributes[ | ]

  • Infantry sword Hybrid-Weapon Infantry
  • Anti-Infantry: Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
  • Melee Expert: Melee Experts might have a very strong melee attack or melee defence, or high values in both. Some also have melee-focused skills like Charge Defence. Use them to counter other strong melee units. When facing them, it is best to take them out before they can enter melee.

Strategy[ | ]

While many people will gloss over the princess for the many Legendary Lords or even the generic Archmage, the Princess should not be underestimated. She has a solid missile attack that can be used to whittle down high value enemies from afar. Her magic missiles are not the best in the game, but can do a decent amount of armour-piercing damage. She can also shoot while moving regardless of the mount she is on which allows her to reposition and fire at the same time. These attributes are particularly useful when she is on a flying mount. This gives the Princess the ability to sit in the air and shoot down at her targets without being worried about line of sight. When mounted on a dragon, the Princess can use breath attacks to target enemies while her ranged attacks whittle down high value enemy units. If the dragon's melee power is needed on the ground, she can dive down before pulling back up into the air to leverage her ranged attacks. In conclusion, the Princess ranged attacks make her valuable for sniping down enemy units and when put on a flying mount, she can be used in a variety of different roles.
