Racial capitals are special settlements on the campaign map. They usually have unique landmark buildings. Many serve as the starting location for playable factions, though not all playable factions start at their racial capital. In Total War: Warhammer II racial capitals have 10 building slots rather than the usual 8 for a province capital.

  • Which racial capitals appear on the map depends on which campaign you are playing.
  • Hordes do not have racial capitals.
  • Wood Elves use an alternative settlement system with the Oak of Ages.
  • For Tomb Kings, the Black Pyramid of Nagash is important but not a racial capital.
  • Norsca do not have a racial capital, but get special bonuses when they capture enemy racial capitals. For Norscan purposes, Kislev is considered a racial capital while Lahmia is not, despite the fact that Kislev has 8 building slots and Lahmia has 10.

Racial capitals are distinct from faction capitals.
