Runes

Runes are special items that can only be obtained by Dwarfs.pngDwarfs Lords and cannot be used by other races. There are 11 Runes in total. Runes can be equipped onto specific units in the battle preview panel to provide them with various stat bonuses, attributes, and abilities. This is similar to how Banners and Marks of Chaos work.

Runes should not be confused with the rune abilities of the Runesmith and Runelord.

Effects: +8 Melee Attack and +4 Leadership

Stromni Redbeard made this rune in the days of Bael, Lord of Karak Azul - it was used by Durgin, grandsire of Grimnir, the Ancestor God of Warriors.

Duration: 25 Seconds

Recharge Time: 90 Seconds

Target: Self

Effects: Unbreakable

Dwarfs are stubborn. The Rune of Stoicism amplifies this, reminding them never to back down no matter who they face.

Duration: Constant

Target: Affects enemies in a 30m radius

Effects: -4% Charge Bonus and -8 Melee Attack

The Rune of Slowness hardens the air around those seeking to engage with honest Dwarfen axes.

Target: Affects allies in a 30m radius

Effects: 20% Missile Resistance

This rune stirs up the Winds of Magic, using their swirling arcane force to protect its bearer and shield nearby Dwarfs from missile fire.

Groth One-Eye first struck this rune in the time of Kurgan Ironbeard, when the Greenskins were driven from the Badlands and the Dwarfs prospered.

Those that have the Rune of Courage will never fear the horrors they face.

During the Golden Age, a Rune of Battle would be seen on Dwarf Banners from many Holds, for the Clans were always thirsty for war.

Recharge Time: 45 Seconds

Target: Ally within 100m

Effects: Unbreakable

In adversity, Dwarfs look to the runes of the Ancestors - remembering the duty that is now their own to bear - and refuse to break.
