Located in the south east of Nehekhara, Shifting Sands was the site of many of the increasingly desparate battles fought between Nagash and the other ancient rulers of the region, and the land still bears the scars of several of his more infamous atrocities.
In more modern times, after Bretonnia was driven from the fortress of Antoch, the city of Ka-Sabar was revived by Arabyan settlers, and it enjoys rich trade with the Lizardmen further south. However the city has never been entirely freed from the curse of necromancy. Arabyan prince Abdul ben Rachid wrote The Book of the Dead here after traveling to Nehekhara, compiling everything a mortal is capable of learning about necromancy. Despite the best efforts of the Caliph of Ka-Sabar to burn every single copy, rumours abound that the book can still be found within its walls, and it is easy to imagine the sort of dark attention that draws.
