When hoping for the fleeting, fickle favour of the Ruinous Ones, carry a really big mace.

Fimir Warriors (Great Weapons) are a World Walkers Norsca monstrous infantry unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer with Norsca (DLC).

Recruitment[ | ]

Description[ | ]

Fimir Warriors are the foot soldiers of their race, bedecked in large, powerful plate armor and wielding clumsy maces into battle. To isolated and lonely settlements on fog-shrouded fen and swamp, from the hinterlands of the Empire to the edges of far Cathay, the Fimir are a creature of horrific legend made manifest. Cold and cruel and mightier than any man, with a single baleful eye atop a pointed snout bristling with jagged fangs, to some these scaled nightmares are daemons incarnate, but the truth is much stranger and darker.

With a single eye atop a fanged snout, and deathly yellow-grey flesh that can shrug off blows that would kill a mortal man outright, the amphibious humanoid monsters known as the Fimir are horrific living legends. Their origins are unknown to most, but millenniums ago they were roaring the praises of the Dark Gods as they despoiled the lands of men living in the area that would later become the Empire. Then, one day, the Gods abandoned them in favour of man. Despite hating mankind, the Fimir have a common cause with the Norscan tribes, as they both crave the attention of the Dark Gods, but even so, it is an uneasy and fractious alliance.

Attributes[ | ]

  • Monstrous infantry Monstrous Infantry
  • Armoured: Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Modifier icon armour piercingArmour-Piercing damage.
  • Armour-Piercing: The damage of Modifier icon armour piercingarmour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Anti-Large: Anti-Large: Anti-large units have an advantage against targets that are at least as large as a horse. This advantage can be a Modifier icon bonus vs largedamage bonus against large targets or an attack that focuses on a very small area. However, some units are simply better against large targets because their attacks are slow and easy to dodge by skilled melee combatants.
  • Armour-Sundering: The armour-splitting attacks of this unit can significantly weaken the target's armour.

Fimir with great weapons are probably tied with Skin Wolves for most useful and dependable unit on the Norscan roster. They combine anti-large with armor piercing and armor sundering. This helps all attacks against an enemy do more damage and means they can pose a potent threat to any and all large armored units. They also do decently well against armored infantry. Although swarms of anti-large infantry will certainly damage these units.
