A well-placed kennel of Warhounds, set loose on the enemy lines, can thread horrific injury amongst the enemy.

Norscan Warhounds are a World Walkers Norsca war beasts unit introduced in Total War: Warhammer with Norsca (DLC).

Recruitment[ | ]

Description[ | ]

In Norsca, wolves and hounds prowl in the flickering shadows of the campfires made by the barbarian tribespeople of the frozen lands. The further north the tribe dwells, the more likely it is that the hounds that follow them will be mutants, their bodies swollen by the energies of Chaos. Brutish and bloodthirsty, Warhounds are natural killers built of muscle and fang that prowl the wilderness in ravening packs. They will even charge a spearwall with total abandon, their only concern the moment when their slobbering jaws sink into juicy, yielding flesh.

Attributes[ | ]

  • War beast War Beasts
  • Scaly Skin: Scaly skin or hides help to dampen or deflect the damage caused by missile weapons, increasing this unit's Missile Resistance.
  • Very Fast: This unit can run circles around most other units, taunting and harrassing the enemy or evading its missile fire.
  • Weak Against Armour: This unit's attack can hardly punch through armour and is thus wasted on heavily armoured enemies.

See the strategy for the ice wolves. The Norscan Warhounds fulfill basically the exact same role, they are just cheaper so you can use them in the early stages of the game and replace these ugly things by the coolest-prettiest-deadliest ice wolves when you have enough money to afford them.

Disbanding archers and artillery, killing fleeing enemies, pursuing light cavalry, enemies and flanking melee, this is in order what they should do in battle.
