==How they work== * Each RoR may only be recruited once by each faction. * Regiments of Renown are recruited from a separate panel - click the button labelled Recruit Regiments of Renown next to your faction's standard recruitment buttons. * They are recruited instantly into the selected army and do not require time to train. The army only needs to be able to access at least global recruitment at the time (and of course, have open room to add units). * In most cases, RoR become available to the playerโs faction when a Lord (any lord from your faction) reaches a certain character level. * Almost all RoR get a stats increase (higher leadership, melee attack, melee defence, and reload speed if they have a ranged attack) over their standard counterparts because they are automatically rank 9 units. * However, most RoR still have greater stats than even a rank 9 version of their standard counterpart. * Each regiment also gets one or more special abilities that its standard counterpart does not. The number varies according to the unit โ most just have one, though a small number have two, three or even four. * If a RoR is destroyed in battle or disbanded, then it does not permanently die but instead there is a cooldown before it may be recruited again. * RoR's can be recruited regardless of any building requirements that their base unit version may have. * The Regiments of Renown recruitment system and interface is open to modding, and it can be used for more than just adding other famous units. ===Unusual cases=== * In a few cases, multiple races may have access to the same regiments of renown - for instance Warriors of Chaos, Daemons of Chaos and Khorne have access to Knights of the Brazen Throne. * In rare cases, specific factions might lack access to a RoR that other factions of their race can recruit. * It's possible for AI factions to recruit RoR so you might see them recruit the same RoR that you have in your own army, leading to 2 of the same RoR on the field. * It's possible to get multiple of the same RoR if you confederate a faction that has an RoR in one of it's armies, while you also have the same RoR in one of your armies. * As with other DLC content, it may be possible for AI factions to field RoR from DLC that the player does not own. ===See also=== Some races and factions have special elite units, similar to regiments of renown: * Blessed Spawnings (Lizardmen) * Legions of Legend (Tomb Kings) - these are even recruited from the same button as regiments of renown * Eltharion's Mistwalkers (Yvresse, a High Elves faction) * Elector Count State Troops (The Empire) * Ogre Mercenaries - available to all factions in Total War: Warhammer II.
